The Youth and Culture Guest House nestles in parkland that combines both historical and contemporary architecture. The old tree population and the new architectural elements convey a sense of relaxation whilst at the same time creating among visitors a concentrated awareness of nature and art. Franz Erhard Walther drew up the architectural plans for the Youth and Culture Guest House and the parkland. Walther bases all his architectural proportions on people a concept that in this case is carried right through into the parkland in which Walther opens up angles of vision and accentuates the landscape by using architectural elements. The harmonisation of inner and outer rooms, whilst highly functional, also allows guests to enjoy their accommodation as an art experience. Under the direction of the German Youth Hostel Association, the Youth and Culture Guest House offers a high standard of accommodation: twin and four-bedded rooms with shower/WC, several seminar and conference rooms and an audio-visual media centre with a function room. The media centre can be used as a small cinema, dance floor, Internet café and media workshop. The flexible catering concept allows for gastronomic "themes", flexible mealtimes, whole food and vegetarian cuisine. Full board and lodgings are available at moderate prices. In order to be able to use the Guest House visitors must be members of the German Youth Hostel Association. Internet: Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk Navigation |
